Different Fields is the story of Aaron James, a star footballer and a friend to a fatherless teenager named Casey. James has a flaw. He is a gambler, and allows himself to be blackmailed into throwing a Finals game. Different Fields is a story of cheating, redemption and self-discovery. It is a story about the childhood joy of sports and how athletes often lose the sense of who they really are behind the exciting veneer of celebrity.
This project unites a collection of established and emerging South Australian performers, directors and designers to create a socially relevant new production. Artists currently taking part in the project include Jonathan Mill (director), Timothy Sexton (musical director), Sue Grey Gardner (lighting designer), Peter Michell (performer), Kathryn Dineen (performer), and producers/performers Deborah Caddy and Adam Goodburn.
