Beauty inspires art, and the artist aspires to beauty. Beauty can be discovered or created, a truth or a construct, it may be inherent or simply artifice. Beau is an examination of beauty through a nostalgic sepia lens…will we find la belle or la bźte?

Acclaimed cabaret artist Patrick Lim has enjoyed cabaret seasons in New York and London, and now creates Beau inconjunction with his brand new sepia designed production of Beauty & the Beast for the State Opera Studio. Beau takes on the French flavour of its title and is peppered with the wit and flair of Beau Brummell.

The musical score offers an eclectic menu, combining song literature, musical theatre and pop, from Duparc, Poulenc and Mozart through to Cole Porter, Sondheim and Christina Aguilera!
