Fifteen years ago Ray and Una had a relationship that ended suddenly. He was 40 and she was 12. They haven't seen each other since. Now, Ray has moved on with a new life and a fresh start but Uni has thought of nothing else and sets out to find him with shattering consequences.

Blackbird is a sensational and shocking play that asks challenging questions about society, morality and love - exploring the limits of language and how the past irrevocably effects the present. Multi award-winning South Australian theatre company Flying Penguin takes on this breathtaking, psychological thriller following critically acclaimed seasons of Translations, The birthday party, Assassins and True west.

The five-star smash hit of the Edinburgh Festival, Blackbird has become an International phenomenon—having been translated into 12 languages and winning the prestigious 2007 Laurence Oliver Award for Best New Play.

Director David Mealor was the winner of the 2009 Adelaide Critic’s Circle Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement for True west.

Set and costume designer Andrew Howard  was a nominee 2010 Green Room Awards – Best Sound Design for Knives and hens.
