Born with an adult head already on her shoulders, Ruby develops at 10,000 times the normal pace and attains the wisdom of old age on the afternoon of that very same day. She is magic, superheroic, invincible: she can read others' thoughts and see through walls. Ruby's body is all heart; touch her and you'll get bloody, for her contents are too many.
A lush landscape of madness, laughter, revelation, heartache and body fluids, this new work by the Misery Children examines one woman examining herself. Sometimes, when there are no bruises to show your life's journey, you make your own.

Finnegan Kruckemeyer invites us in on the journey of Ruby’s growing old.The constructed set in the Waterside Workers Hall of billowing sheets, designed by Amy Milhinch and Wendy Todd, is reminiscent of your childhood cubby house: literally in the cubby of stolen sheets behind the lounge or under the porch chairs, and figuratively in the comfort, home, and wonder it brings.
