London in the early 1950s. Successful, debonair, self-obsessed actor, Garry Essendine prepares for a theatrical touring commitment in Africa.
Amid a series of events bordering on farce, our handsome hero has to deal with several women who want to seduce him while he endeavours to placate both his long-suffering secretary and his perceptive estranged wife.
Into Garry's carefully crafted household arrangements comes a crazed young playwright. While all this is happening, Garry tries to overcome the trepidation of his own approaching fortieth brithday and, by implication, an impending mid-life crisis. Even as he moans and groans about craving solitude, we know that all Garry really wants is pampering.
Present Laughter is presented by The Therry Dramatic Society.
