Flying Penguin has presented critically acclaimed and award winning productions of Translations by Brian Friel, The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter, Assassins by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman and most recently True West by Sam Shepard. The Company has been nominated for and received a series of awards including: The Adelaide Theatre Guide Best Production Awards for The Birthday Party (2007) and True West (2009), The Adelaide Theatre Guide Best Actor Awards for Translations (2006), The Birthday Party (2007) and True West (2009); and the Adelaide Critic’s Circle Award for Outstanding Group Achievement and The Sunday Mail Award for Best Production for The Birthday Party (2007).In 2010 Flying Penguin will present the South Australian premiere of David Harrower’s play Blackbird and return with another season of True West.
