1:19 AM Oct 6th, 2009 Opening of the Thomas Edmonds Opera Studio

On Saturday 8th May, Co-Opera honoured one of its patrons, the eminent Thomas Edmonds at a sold out performance of The Magic Flute when the former Wool Hall at the Adelaide Showground was renamed the Thomas Edmonds Opera Studio.

Minister Assisting the Premier in the Arts, John Hill MP, on behalf of Premier Mike Rann, officially named the Studio in a most entertaining speech.  Thomas Edmonds responded and spoke of his delight that Co-Opera had a rehearsal base at the Adelaide Showground.  He entertained the audience with many amusing anecdotes of dodgy rehearsal venues in his long career.

The generosity and great support of the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society was recognised.
